Superannuation Post
As the first teacher to me and teacher to thousands of other intermediate as well as undergraduate girls who had the opportunity to learn from your technical skills and follow your grace as well as dignity, it has been a remarkable journey. The girls whom you have taught must be indebted to you because of your contribution towards their overall development and metamorphism. Maa, Your journey as a teacher, started on a very early age with lot of hopes and aspiration and as the journey progressed, many challenges in form of government red tape, lack of a suitable working environment, health issues, family issues and more recently issues such as changing of teaching standards, environment and over reliance on technology over classical teaching came in to existence. Overcoming all the hurdles while maintaining the same composure, grace, dignity and modesty has been one of the greatest achievement in your life. Despite the overwhelming workload on a very limited workforce in the professional front, in personal space, you did what you loved to do (gardening, going to the weekly market, songs, sewing and preparing healthy foods) and enjoyed the journey to the fullest. As they say, it’s not the destination but the journey which is important. In this long journey you have seen your children growing up to become engineers, going abroad and getting settled. I have seen you toiled hard each single day to manage all the objectives with severe constraints, and lately it has been an ever daunting task to manage all the professional responsibilities. Now it’s time for you to have a sigh of relief as it’s the time for downing the curtain on your professional life. As you step in to your retirement life, hope you can enjoy the time in relaxation, music and things which you love to or wish to do. The entire teaching fraternity has been indebted by the invaluable contribution you have done in the past 36 years. Hope the superannuation starts a new phase of life which brings joy and happiness to your ever smiling face. Happy retirement day, maa.. (30th June 2019)
