On this day (11th September) (124 years ago and 16 years ago).. Strange Coincidences

September 11 1893: The first world's parliament of religion started in Art Institute of Chicago, USA. Swami Vivekananda from India delivered his first lecture on the first day itself and got a standing ovation from the crowd of nearly 7000 people for 2 minutes when he said "Sisters and brothers of America!". His explanation of Hinduism and other aspects of religion while giving small examples like a frog in a well literally shook the collective consciousness of the world. The world saw India in a different perspective from that point.
September 11 2001: The 9/11 attack on USA as it is called changed the world politics forever. On this day USA was attacked by terrorist of Al-Qaeda as they hijacked 4 civilian air planes (2 of them Boeing 767 and other 2 of them Boeing 757). Two air crafts hit the iconic twin towers (world trade centre), the other one hit the nerve centre of American defence pentagon and fourth plane was crashed in Pennsylvania. Around 3000 American citizen were killed and 6000 more were injured and property worth of billions were damaged. The aftermath of 9/11 has polarised the world view. USA and its allied fought years of bloody war in Afghanistan and Iraq. Al-Qaeda fought back and there were casualties from both the sides. Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein were brought to justice in American way. The trickle down effects of 9/11 also started Arab Spring. The Arab spring which started with jasmine revolution (Tunisian revolution) claimed the power of many dictators (Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Yemen, Syria, Baharin). The protest spread far and wide. Even china saw pro-democracy protests in 2011. Rims of paper have been used to analyze the effects of this incident. This post is a brief summary of the event.
The two separate incidents mentioned above occurred a little more than a century apart has been talking point of this day. At the anniversary of these historic events, I just wish that everybody live in peace and tranquility.
